Here's another article about konapun from back in the 1980s complete with a photo of the toy way back when. Neat to see such an old incarnation of the toy! In this Japanese blog, from what I can gather from the translation, the author says that konapun toys were made briefly in the 1980s and then weren't made again until about 20 years later. It's neat to read a bit more about the history. It includes lots of pictures and a description of exactly what the "magical" Konapun powder is made out of.
